Frustrated and 2D Magnets research

Van der Waals magnets offer a platform for exploring magnetism in the two-dimensional limit, with applications in spintronics and quantum information. I investigate the magnetic anisotropy, exchange interactions, and electronic structure of layered magnetic compounds — including CuCrP₂S₆ and AgCrP₂S₆ — using XMCD and RIXS at the Cr L-edge.

Beyond layered systems, I study geometrically frustrated magnets such as K₂IrCl₆ using THz pump–THz probe, THz-TDS, and THz pump–optical probe techniques in magnetic fields. These experiments probe the interplay of geometric frustration, spin-orbit coupling, and optical control of magnetic orders.
